Freedom to Thrive
Every Floridian, no matter who we are or where we’re from, deserves the freedom to provide a good life for themselves and their families, including the freedom to afford a roof over their heads. During my first term as a state Representative, I joined my colleagues in calling for a housing crisis state of emergency. While Governor Ron DeSantis has used our time in Tallahassee to pass laws that divide us for his political ambitions, Florida has become unaffordable for Floridians. We know what we can accomplish when we work together as neighbors from all walks of life lifting each other up in times of need.
While certain politicians want to make our personal medical decisions for us, police who we love and what we learn, and attack people striving for a better future, I’ll work with my colleagues to focus on solving the real issues facing the people of our state with common-sense solutions to lower the cost of housing and health care, increase wages, fight for equal rights for everyone, and ensure we all have the freedom to live our own American Dream. I will keep up that fight for you and your family!
Freedom to Live
The consequences of gun violence in the U.S. hurt the most vulnerable among us, especially children, as we know all too well after the 2018 Parkland shooting. I believe that every Floridian deserves to live in a safe community, but certain politicians pass laws that don’t address the issue of gun violence and instead are the largest recipients of NRA money so they don’t have the courage to pass bipartisan, common-sense gun safety measures.
Born and raised in Northwest Jacksonville, my community lacked equal resources, a clean environment and the opportunity to grow up safely. Tragically, I lost my favorite cousin to gun violence by way of the school-to-prison pipeline and that’s why I pledge to continue fighting for safer communities. I support passing common-sense gun reform because our ability to thrive starts with the freedom to be healthy and safe in our homes, our schools, our churches, and our neighborhoods without fear.

Freedom to Flourish
Good educational opportunities are foundational to our future success and our freedom to prosper. Parents work hard every day to provide for their families and their tax dollars should be working for them. No matter our zip code, we all want our kids to succeed and live the best life they can– that’s what the American Dream is all about. Lately, the politicians in charge have used public schools for their own political agendas, turning our kids into pawns instead of making sure all schools have enough resources to provide a high quality education that prepares them for the future.
We need leaders in Tallahassee that aren’t interested in dividing us with made up problems, but are just focused on solving the real issues that affect our families every day. While you work hard, pay your taxes, and do everything right for your family, you deserve to be heard on what’s best for your child’s education. I believe that public service is about keeping the focus on helping students learn. Let’s work together to make sure they have everything they need. Let’s flourish!
No matter what we look like or where we live, every Floridian deserves to know that if they work hard, they can provide a good life for their families. I’ll keep fighting for safe neighborhoods, affordable homes, women’s health care freedom, and fully-funded schools for our kids.
Our communities deserve to no longer just survive, they deserve to thrive! They deserve to FLOURISH!
